One of our mobility scooter customers Horizon Mobility based in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire celebrated the opening of their new production facility on the 21st July 2016.
The facility is 13,500 ft2 and is the new HQ for mobility scooter and wheel chair production, repair, servicing and hire. Owned by the Billcliffe brothers the business has been established for over 20 years.
They produce high powered mobility scooters and models like the Mayan can cope with users up to 65 stone (415kgs) in weight! The standard seat on the Mayan is our C1 with armrests, headrest and slide rails and trimmed in grey vinyl.
However for large users we have supplied our reinforced versions which were 56cm wide (C1 or C4 XL).This model is hand made in our workshop in Zwijndrecht.
UnitedSeats is one of the major European suppliers of mobility scooter seating, as well as supplying standard and oversize seats we produce a 32cm version for child applications.
The opening ceremony was conducted by one of the GB Paralympian rowers, who will soon be heading to Rio Da Janeiro for the Olympics.
We wish Horizon all the best in their new building and to continue providing solutions for disabled people.
